Private Equity Originations Vice President
A leading healthcare-focused Private Equity firm is looking to add a Business Development/Originations Vice President to their team. The team is comprised of industry experts and investment professionals dedicated to driving exceptional results and fostering long-term success for their portfolio companies. This individual will play a key role in sourcing new deals, strengthening relationships with intermediaries, and building the firm's market presence.
Responsibilities:
Participate in various marketing and business development activities, including, but not limited to:
Deal Sourcing
- Focus on direct calling and proprietary sourcing efforts
o For add-ons based on team's direction
o For platforms based on thesis process
o Execute on target lists generated by team
o Track to monthly & quarterly targets (activity and success-based metrics)
- Provide dedicated to the firm's portfolio companies in their pursuit of add-on investments
- Support deal generation through traditional intermediary and advisory channels:
o Communicate with intermediaries through outbound calls, in person meetings and conferences
o Strengthen relationships with existing intermediaries and develop relationships with new intermediaries
o Plan call activity to ensure coverage and regular touchpoints of top tier deal sources
- Represent the team at conferences, trade shows and industry association / other networking events
Pipeline & CRM Management
- Help manage initial deal screening using established firm criteria and qualification of select new investment opportunities
- Diligently track BD activities related to pipeline, deal flow, funnel metrics
- Help with monthly activities related to intermediary coverage, deal data clean-up, thesis development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience with a strong track record of success in a private equity business development role or similar, such as corporate development experience at a PE-backed platform. They should demonstrate high achievement in originating new business and leading deal sourcing efforts effectively; exposure to the healthcare industry a significant plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Resourceful, self-motivated, highly organized, process-oriented, data driven and tech savvy
- Comfortable with a small office, fast-paced, deadline environment with some unpredictable hours
- Have the charisma, presence, and communication skills to establish credibility and inspire confidence both internally and externally
- Possess strong EQ and outstanding interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM reporting/dashboarding and email marketing tools a plus
